Here’s another interesting macro image of the dahlias. Most of the recent macro images here have been shot with a ring flash, but these two dahlias were not, shot instead with a setup of several speedlights at sides and above. That produces deeper and richer shadows. The yellow is natural color at the base of the petals as they begin to unfold, but here the yellow (which has been enhanced a bit in post) looks more a golden light emanating from within. Very sensual, I think.
