Plain of the Acamo

I’ve been doing a bunch of printing this weekend. Many images convey in black and white prints things they don’t seem to convey in color. I love classic black and white. This image is from the series shot on the Acamo Pueblo in north central New Mexico, and the color image has already been posted here. I went back to the raw and completely redid it, this time in black and white. I hope you like it because I think it’s quite cool.

What I love most about the southwest, reflected in most of these images, is the vastness and expansiveness of the landscape. The rock formations are cool, the canyons can be spectacular. But the sheer vastness of the high desert is, to me, beautiful and spiritually captivating.  Joanne
