Here is an image from some work indoors. The orchid is a phalaenopsis, also known as a “moth orchid.” These are in abundant supply in the shops nowadays. The phalaenopsis is a very large species, native to southeastern and oceanic Asia, and cultivators have now produced many hybrids.

A black-and-white version of this image was included in the Three Images post several days ago. Working some more with the image, I decided that it would stand on its own as an interesting image in color. I’ve done some more in post to enhance the white. (Click image for larger.)

Do we ever tire of shooting roses? I don’t. I especially like these old roses which are always so lovely.

Another Calla Lily image. Along with everything else about them – the eroticism and the elegance – Calla Lilies are flowers of many moods. I’m reminded of Katherine Hepburn in Stage Door: “The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower—suitable to any occasion.”

One of the most artistic of flowers, the Calla Lily is at once elegant and provocative, graceful and erotic, boldly up-front and yet remote and mysterious.
