Grand Canyon Sunset redux

Grand Canyon Subset. Nikon D200. 17-55mm Nikkor f/2.8. 23 mm. ISO 200. 1/500 sec at f/4.8. Copyright Joanne Mason 2012.

This is the Grand Canyon at sunset, shot from Navajo Point on the South Rim. This has to be one of nature’s most spectacular shows. I have edited this and similar shots more than a half dozen times (see here and here), trying to get the color right. This is the best version. (Click image for larger.)

  1. Great colors :) Powerful stuff

  2. First off, great shot! I went to the Grand Canyon a few years ago and it was majestic. I was wondering what program you us to edited photos since I’ve planning to get a program but can not decide on which one ( I have a Mac book). Just wondering which you would recommend!

    • Thanks for your comment! I use Lightroom for all photo cataloging and organizing, and some editing. But I do most post in the Nik programs. Nik is still marketed as Nik, but has been bought by Google. You can do everything in Lightroom though.
