This scene is in the Sonoran desert of Arizona. This is another image that I’ve been working with a long time and never quite satisfied. In fact, there’s a black-and-white version I posted a while back; I wasn’t really happy with that one either. This though is now getting a lot closer to what I have in mind for this image. As with other desert scenes, I find a strange beauty and power present amid the apparent desolation of the desert. These cacti are the sentinels of the deserts. The skies in the desert are also interesting – Never “just” cloudy, or “just” overcast; or for that matter “just” sunny.
